The western access will be transformed with connectivity and public space works. The San Francisco City Council, Córdoba, approved by majority vote the call for bids for one of the most significant urban projects in the city in recent years: the construction of a high-rise bicycle path , accompanied by a pedestrian walkway and the boulevardization of 9 de Julio Street . The project, with an estimated budget of $3.15 billion , will be fully financed by the provincial government and has a 10-month execution period from the date of its award . The project will cover the section between Juan B. Justo and Caseros streets , at the western entrance to the city, and includes a comprehensive renovation of the area, focusing on sustainable mobility, modern urban design, and road safety. The initiative was announced by Mayor Damián Bernarte on March 1 and received legislative approval despite objections from some opposition sectors. Municipal officials emphasize that the project responds to a long-delayed demand for urban infrastructure, while the local political debate reveals a combination of expectation and skepticism regarding the magnitude of the project. However, the bidding process is moving forward, and the transformation of San Franciscos western access road has already begun to take shape. |
