The Mendoza government decided not to award six projects financed with national compensation funds , because the bids submitted by the companies exceeded the official budgets by up to 55% . It announced that these projects will be re-created with revised values ??but adjusted to what was originally planned . These initiatives were funded with part of the US$1.023 billion the province received from the Nation as compensation for the irregular extension of the Industrial Promotion regime. Although the money was originally intended for Portezuelo del Viento, after its cancellation it was redirected to a plan of 29 projects distributed throughout the province . Among the works that will be put out to tender again are: Micro-metering of drinking water in Luján de Cuyo (Vistalba, Carrodilla, Drummond and City): $1.64 billion. It will be divided into two tenders: labor on the one hand and materials on the other. Drinking water drilling in eight districts of Maipú : $2.837 billion. Lining of the Perrone Canal : $23.424 million. Modernization of the Bombal canal : $2.062 billion. Modernization of the Calise canal : $5.793 billion. Optimization of the Aysam water distribution system (Terrazas Las Cañas) : $2.746 billion. The latter will be withdrawn as an individual project and redistributed into new initiatives. According to the Undersecretary of Infrastructure, Marité Baduí , the government will not approve prices that exceed budgets without technical justification, considering that the official amounts were correctly estimated . The measure seeks to send a clear message to bidding companies : speculative practices and overpricing in public tenders will not be tolerated. At the same time, other projects are already underway or close to starting. Among the awarded and signed contracts, three road projects won by Cartellone stand out , with investments of more than $30 billion: Provincial Route 153 (sections Las Catitas–Ñacuñán and Ñacuñán–Monte Comán). Provincial Route 171 between Monte Comán and General Alvear. Sanitation projects such as the expansion of the General Alvear wastewater treatment plant , the Máxima Tirasso sewage collector in Guaymallén , and the Junín sewage collector are also underway , with contracts signed and work certificates scheduled for April. In parallel, the Government continues to work on new tenders for strategic projects, such as: Transformer stations in Mendoza Norte, San Rafael, San Carlos and La Paz. Pressurized irrigation systems and canals in productive areas such as the Uco Valley and southern Mendoza. Expansion of water treatment and sewage treatment plants in Maipú , Luján, and other municipalities. Meanwhile, to preserve the funds value, the Ministry of Finance invested 75% of the compensation in financial instruments , mainly fixed-term bonds in dollars and US Treasury bonds of 25 to 30 million dollars , with a projected return of between US$25 and 30 million for this year. Finally, the Mendoza government announced that the works are structured under a repayment system , which will allow for the recovery of part of the invested funds through fees , rates, and municipal revenue-sharing mechanisms, guaranteeing the financial sustainability of the infrastructure plan . |
