Work Detail Foreign tourists coming to Pushkar want that laser shows at Maharana Pratap Smarak open theatre be held in English language. This open theatre is the only such venue in Rajasthan which is surrounded by Aravalli hills on all four sides.

The first show at this venue was inaugurated by chief minister Vasundhara Raje on August 14.

"We saw the show last night. It was fascinating, but we want that script should be in English," said Marry Wilson, a tourist from England. She came to Pushkar with her husband and watched this free show. As the international cattle fair in Pushkar is approaching, foreign tourists have started pouring in here. On their way to Pushkar from Ajmer, they take a brief halt so that they can enjoy a laser show in the lap of hills. After watching the show, CM Raje had tweeted that such a fusion of culture and patriotism was rare, an official said.

He added that this time, the laser show highlighted the bravery of Maharana Pratap and Prithvi Raj Chouhan, besides underlining the beauty and historical significance of Pushkar.

A group of tourists from Israel and some European countries watched it and got fascinated by the history and culture of Rajasthan.

"The cattle fair is approaching and therefore, more tourists are coming here. The administration should publicise this place to attract foreign tourists," said Ajay Goyal, a local tour operator. The official said that district collector Gaurav Goyal himself monitored the script of the latest show. "The aim of the show was to highlight the heroes and culture of Rajasthan," he added.

The show runs daily to a packed house in the evening. People come with their families to watch it.

"The show was beamed on three hillocks. The 3D sound system made the show more exciting," said a source. During the show, it seemed as if a real battle between two armies was taking place on the hills.

The spectators hailed the show, but at the same time, they complained about traffic chaos on city roads. Buses and other vehicles stop on roads to see the show and therefore, trigger traffic jams.

The venue also doesn't have a water facility. People said that this open theatre should be developed into a 'multi-functional venue'.
