Construction of the Puerto Madryn-Trelew Highway is progressing with high-tech equipment. Construction on the Puerto Madryn-Trelew Highway continues at a good pace with the addition of state-of-the-art machinery , which will allow for the production of more than 40,000 tons of asphalt mix . The work, financed entirely with provincial funds through a debt compensation agreement with the National Government, seeks to expedite the construction of this key infrastructure for connectivity and road safety in Chubut. Details of the work and financing The project involves doubling the existing roadway for 60 kilometers , from the access point to Puerto Madryn to the Trelew North Roundabout. The work includes: Construction of a new roadway and repair of the current one. Installation of internal and external paved shoulders . Creating intersections at entrances and returns . Incorporation of lighting and complementary works for greater road safety. The total investment is $17,613,573,492 , and the project is being executed by Semisa Infraestructura SA , the company awarded Public Tender No. 63-AVP-2024 . The execution period is fourteen months . Incorporation of new machinery To ensure the progress of the project, state-of-the-art equipment was installed at the Puerto Madryn workshop, including: AMMANN ACM PRIME 140 Tn Asphalt Plant , with high continuous production capacity. RM 100GO! 250 t/h crusher , essential for aggregate processing. Chubuts Secretary of Infrastructure, Energy, and Planning, Hernán Tórtola, emphasized that these additions will optimize construction times and guarantee the quality of the asphalt . He also noted that the sites location is strategic, as it facilitates immediate access to the materials needed for the project. Importance of the work for the region The president of the Provincial Highway Department , Federico Drescher, highlighted the joint effort between different areas of the Government to streamline administrative processes and move forward with construction within a national jurisdiction .
