The project involves the installation of more than 500 LED lights in four sections and will be completed within 120 days. The San Juan Ministry of Infrastructure has launched a call for bids for the installation of a lighting system on the outer side of the Beltway, with a total budget of $1.679 billion. The project, which will be divided into four sections, seeks to improve road safety and visibility on this key road connecting the departments of Capital and Santa Lucía. The construction period will be 120 calendar days, so if it begins in May, work could be completed in October. On April 11, bids from companies interested in carrying out the project will be opened. The budgets are distributed as follows: Section 1 : $438,376,517 – Installation of 145 lighting points with metal columns and concrete bases, in addition to the replacement of LED fixtures. Section 2 : $473,509,492 – Includes 116 lights between the South Access and San Lorenzo Street. Section 3 : $456,934,525 – Includes the installation of 163 lights between Las Heras and Paula Albarracín de Sarmiento. Section 4 : $310,952,726 – Incorporation of 117 lighting points between Paula Albarracín de Sarmiento and the South Access. The project not only includes the installation of new lighting fixtures but also the replacement of existing lights in strategic areas. For its proper execution, a technical study was conducted to determine the appropriate components for each section, ensuring energy efficiency and durability. Since the work will be carried out on the outer ring road of the Beltway and outside the vehicular traffic area, no traffic cuts or interruptions are expected. Although this avenue falls under national jurisdiction, the San Juan government has the authority to implement improvements thanks to a current cooperation agreement. With this project, the province is making progress in modernizing its public lighting, opting for LED technology to improve safety and optimize energy consumption on one of its most important thoroughfares.
