| Work Detail |
Tata Power, one of India’s largest integrated power companies, has joined forces with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to boost skill development in the power sector, with a special focus on green jobs and transmission & distribution skills. This partnership aims to make India’s workforce more job-ready and aligned with the country’s growing clean energy needs. As part of the agreement, Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), established by Tata Power, will become NSDC’s Training Partner. TPSDI will offer hands-on, industry-aligned training in key areas like green energy, power transmission, power distribution, and industrial safety. The curriculum will be tailored to meet the evolving demands of India’s energy transition and the net-zero workforce, ensuring trainees are prepared for the future. So far, TPSDI has trained over three lakh individuals, helping bridge the skill gap in the power sector. Building on this success, Tata Power plans to expand TPSDI’s reach by setting up more training centers across the country, adding to its current 11 centers. This move will improve access to quality vocational training, especially for youth in diverse regions.
