The Córdoba government has reaffirmed its commitment to public works through an ambitious infrastructure plan for 2025, with a planned investment of $882 million. This figure does not include the additional funding the province is seeking to continue the interprovincial aqueduct that will bring water from the Paraná River. Amid the cutback in national infrastructure investments, the Córdoba government distanced itself from the policies of Javier Mileis administration and defended the key role of public works projects in provincial development. Miguel Siciliano, president of the Hacemos Unidos por Córdoba legislative bloc, emphasized the importance of these projects: These public works projects are fundamental to the progress of the provinces and cities, in addition to being a key source of job creation. Siciliano emphasized that, despite the national context and the elimination of funding for public works, Córdoba maintains its own infrastructure plan throughout the province, regardless of the political affiliation of each municipality. He also criticized the lack of maintenance of national highways in the province and the lack of response from the national government. The legislator also took aim at national representative Gabriel Bornoroni, of La Libertad Avanza (La Libertad Avanza), accusing him of ignoring the provincial situation and the need for investment in road infrastructure. In particular, he mentioned the deterioration of National Route 158 and the lack of intervention by the National Government, which puts road safety and the transportation of agricultural products at risk. For his part, Córdobas Minister of Infrastructure and Public Services, Fabián López, confirmed that the provincial public works plan will continue with its own resources and external financing. The province will continue with strategic projects in connectivity, water, and sanitation, prioritizing the development and safety of the people of Córdoba. |
