Work Detail Star Cement Ltd has proposed to establish a ?3,200-crore cement clinker and grinding plant in Assam, marking a significant investment in the state’s industrial sector. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assam government on the concluding day of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025 on Wednesday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced. In addition to Star Cement’s investment, the state government also signed an MoU with Matheson Hydrogen Lvt Ltd for a ?1,500-crore hydrogen and steam generation plant. Another ?500-crore agreement was inked with Global Health Ltd, while two non-financial MoUs were signed with ITE Education Service. Expressing gratitude for the corporate investments, Sarma stated that more agreements would be signed throughout the day as Assam continues to attract key industrial players. The first day of the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit saw the signing of 164 MoUs across 15 sectors, reflecting strong investor confidence in the state’s economic potential.
