The national government has reached a pre-agreement with the US company ARC Energy for the sale of Impsa. The formal announcement will be made between Tuesday and Wednesday. ARC Energy is expected to take over in February 2025. One of the central points of the sale is the capitalization of Impsa. ARC Energy is committed to injecting 27 million dollars throughout 2025, starting with an initial payment of 7 million dollars. This capital injection seeks to stabilize the financial situation of Impsa, which is in a delicate economic situation. ARC Energys first offer was considered insufficient, which led to a negotiation to improve it, which was finalized on December 20. The operation involves the renegotiation of Impsas debt, which amounts to 570 million dollars. The main creditors include Banco Nación, the IDB and BICE. ARC Energy could maintain some contracts with the national State, such as with the Ministry of Defense and YPF, as part of the agreement to face the debt. The payment of 5.2 million dollars by Impsa to meet the first due date of the compensatory interest on the Negotiable Obligations (ON) class VII is considered a positive sign for the completion of the sale. The sale seeks to resolve the serious financial crisis that Impsa is going through, which has left it practically bankrupt and with difficulties in paying the salaries of its 700 workers.
