Electric scooter manufacturer River has unveiled plans to significantly grow its retail footprint by opening 25 new stores across India by March 2025. The Bengaluru-based company recently launched its first outlet in Coimbatore, marking its second facility in Tamil Nadu after establishing its flagship store in Chennai in 2024. Backed by prominent investors like Yamaha Motor, Mitsui and Company Ltd., and the Al Futtaim Group, River aims to deepen its presence in Tamil Nadu by setting up stores in Vellore, Erode, and Tiruppur. Beyond the state, the expansion will include locations in Mysuru, Belgaum, Tirupati, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nagpur, and Delhi. “After the success of our flagship store in Chennai, we are thrilled to expand across Tamil Nadu. This region holds special significance for us, as many of our early team members hail from here, said Aravind Mani, Co-Founder and CEO of River. At its Coimbatore store, located at Rajdurai E-Mobility on Trichy Road, the company will retail its flagship electric scooter, Indie, priced at ?1,42,999 (ex-showroom). The store spans 1,200 sq. ft. and aims to offer customers a seamless experience. Our goal is to position River Indie as a unique vehicle that blends style and convenience. By March 2025, we plan to open 25 River Stores across India,” Mani added in a company statement. River currently operates nine retail facilities in cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Hubli, Visakhapatnam, and Kochi. |
