| Work Detail | Suffolk-based Claydon Drills, the European market leader in strip seeding technology, has appointed Thurlow Nunn Standen to handle sales and service of Claydon Hybrid drills, TerraStar cultivators and Cambridge Rolls in Suffolk and Norfolk and parts of north Essex and Cambridgeshire. Claydon previously sold direct to farmers in the region, with service and support provided from its Wickhambrook factory, near Newmarket. Thurlow Nunn Standen (TNS), the agricultural division of the Thurlow Nunn Group, is based at Littleport in Cambridgeshire, with branches in Kennet and Melton in Suffolk and Attleborough, Hinderclay and Sculthorpe in Norfolk. Spencer Claydon, commercial director at Claydon Drills, said: “The appointment of TNS represents a significant change in terms of the way that we do business on our ‘home turf’. “We already have more than 100 units of Claydon equipment operating in the TNS trading area and with farming businesses increasingly looking to reduce their production costs the well-proven Claydon System offers a very attractive alternative to expensive traditional methods of establishing combinable crops.” He added: “We are delighted that TNS appreciate the business opportunity presented by the Claydon range, which is particularly relevant given the current economic pressures facing farmers.
