A private consortium seeks to improve the 618 km that connect Zárate with Paso de los Libres, key for trade with Brazil and Uruguay The consortium made up of Luis Losi SA, Rovella Carranza SA and JCR SA presented a private initiative to the Ministry of Economy for the toll concession of 618 km connecting Zárate, in Buenos Aires, with Paso de los Libres, in Corrientes. This section includes National Routes 12, 14 and 117, and is the main corridor for Argentine trade with Brazil and Uruguay. The project, with an estimated investment of more than 650 million dollars and an operating cost of 300 million, includes the rehabilitation and maintenance of this strategic transportation route, currently in a state of deterioration. The concession requested is for 15 years, and is proposed under the model of private investment and repayment through tolls. The consortium, which has 170 years of combined experience in the construction of more than 7,000 km of routes and the concession of an additional 2,500 km, seeks to consolidate a modern and safe corridor, boosting economic growth in the region and the country.
