Dubai Knowledge Park and Dubai International Academic City are poised to welcome thousands of learners from around the world as the 2024-25 academic year begins, introducing a suite of new, future-oriented programs designed to equip students with the skills needed to navigate an evolving job market. As the UAE’s educational hubs, these institutions aim to integrate academic learning with the demands of the modern economy, particularly in areas influenced by advances in technology such as artificial intelligence (AI). The new offerings will provide students with future-ready skills in transformative sectors including green energy, financial technology, and sports performance. Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Knowledge Park and Dubai International Academic City, emphasized the critical role of education in addressing future challenges. “As we stand at the precipice of a new era defined by complexity and rapid transformation, education is the pillar upon which we must build our future,” said Janahi. He highlighted the importance of equipping students with not only knowledge but also the tools to become solution architects, supporting Dubai’s Economic Agenda ‘D33.’ Among the notable new programs, the University of Wollongong Dubai at Dubai Knowledge Park will introduce short executive courses in sustainable green hydrogen technology to support the global shift towards a sustainable future. Additionally, the university has launched the Blockchain Innovation and Analytics Lab to explore blockchain technologies and foster industry partnerships. Middlesex University Dubai at Dubai International Academic City is offering the new MDX Dubai MBA (Daytime Delivery) program, providing a flexible alternative to traditional evening courses. With eight specializations, including finance, innovation and entrepreneurship, and healthcare management, the program allows students to tailor their learning to their career aspirations. The university is also debuting the MSc Sports Performance Analysis course and MSc Financial Technology program to address growing industry demands, while the MSc Legal Technology course will focus on cybersecurity, AI, and data protection. These initiatives reflect a commitment to embedding talent readiness within a diverse student community, which includes over 33,500 students from more than 170 nationalities. The institutions are also enhancing access to education through scholarships, such as the University of Wollongong Dubai’s merit-based scholarships and Middlesex University’s Academic Excellence Scholarship’s Schools Partnership Grant.
