Work Detail These works will require an estimated investment of 329 million dollars, some of which will allow the transport of energy generated with renewable resources. The state Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment of Peru (Proinversión) has awarded electricity transmission projects, which will benefit one million citizens in the departments of Ica and Arequipa, and will require a joint estimated investment of 329 million dollars. The so-called Group 1 of electric transmission projects has been awarded to the OA Consortium (Omega Peru Operations and Maintenance SA and Concesiones Peru Holdings Transmission I). In a statement, it is explained that these are three projects aimed at improving the quality of the electric transmission system in the south such as (I) New Hub – Poroma Substation and 500 kV “Hub” Poroma – Colectora Link, (II) New Hub San José Substation – First Stage and 220 kV “Hub” San José – Repartición (Arequipa) Link and (III) the New Marcona II SE and 138 kV Marcona II – San Isidro (Bella Unión) – Pampa (Chala) Link. The New Poroma Hub Substation project (First Stage) will allow the transport of energy generated with renewable resources at 500 kV and will benefit 863 thousand people in Ica. Meanwhile, the New San José Hub Substation – First Stage and 220 kV Link” will improve reliability and increase the 138 kV transmission capacity of the Repartición, Majes and Mollendo (Arequipa) electrical system and will benefit 185 thousand people. Meanwhile, the New Marcona II Substation and 138 kV Link will increase the transmission capacity of the Bella Unión and Chala (Ica) electrical system by 60 kV, benefiting 46 thousand people.
