Work Detail Chinese manufacturer Huasun claims to have achieved greater than 26% efficiency for G12R and G12 heterojunction (HJT) solar cells. Huasun said it has achieved a power conversion efficiency of 26.50% in an HJT solar cell and hopes to maintain an average efficiency of 26.15% in mass production. The company said the result was obtained for a G12 heterojunction solar cell through unspecified texturing processes and the adoption of “efficient but cost-effective” target materials. The cell is based on zero busbar module (0BB) technology and low silver-coated copper paste. Huasun claimed that its G12R rectangular cell achieved a maximum efficiency of 26.41% and an average efficiency of 26.01%. The company has not disclosed whether all the results have been confirmed by an independent third party. “The breakthrough not only underlines the technological advances achieved in the mass production efficiency of Huasuns HJT solar cells, but also highlights the immense potential of HJT technology,” it says in a statement, without providing additional technical details. . In March 2023, the Chinese heterojunction module manufacturer began manufacturing solar panels at its HJT cell factory in Xuancheng, Chinas Anhui province. It has recently launched two new series of solar panels based on its 0BB technology for ground-based photovoltaic applications.
