Work Detail Auction seeks up to 4GW of offshore wind for the state The US state of New Jersey has launched its fourth round of offshore wind solicitation, as Governor Phil Murphy and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities president Christine Guhl-Sadovy announced approval of a guidance document. The solicitation hopes to bring in between 1.2GW and 4GW of offshore wind generation, and will close on 10 July. “This latest solicitation is further proof of our commitment to building a strong and thriving offshore wind industry that will deliver undeniable economic and environmental benefits to our state, for both this generation and the next,” Murphy said. “BPU’s latest solicitation will help guarantee that New Jersey residents have access to clean, affordable energy produced right here at home and powered by our very own union workforce.” “After gathering valuable and robust feedback from stakeholders, the NJBPU is proud to release its fourth offshore wind SGD,” Guhl-Sadovy said. “We look forward to considering the next round of applications as we continue to combat the intensifying climate crisis and solidify New Jersey as a national offshore wind hub.” New Jerseys third solicitation round in January awarded two projects, the 1.3GW joint venture from Total Energies and Corio Attentive Energy 2 and the 2.4 Invenergy Leading Light project.
