This is the Puerto Cachicamo Hybrid Power Plant project, composed of 110.3 kW photovoltaic, batteries and a backup diesel generator set. It is located in the department of Guaviare.
The Ministry of Mines and Energy and the Institute for Planning and Promotion of Energy Solutions (IPSE) have put into operation the so-called Puerto Cachicamo Hybrid Power Plant, which will supply electrical energy to the town of Puerto Cachicamo, located in the municipality of San José del Guaviare .
In a statement, it is explained that the system is made up of 266 solar panels with a total capacity of 110.3 kW, 48 4,710 Ah batteries and a 23 kW backup diesel generator set.
It is stated that the project, which required an investment of almost 732 thousand dollars, benefits nearly 100 households, made up of families who are dedicated to growing cocoa, rubber, pineapple and chontaduro (from which palm heart is extracted), since dairy production.
The Government agrees that the objective is for Puerto Cachicamo to be part of the Energy Communities, which supposedly seek to decarbonize the economy, as well as increase energy efficiency and decentralize the generation, storage and consumption of energy. |
