Work Detail The Women’s Infrastructure Network (WIN) held its 10th Annual WIN Awards ceremony, which honoured emerging and outstanding female leaders across the country. In total, 49 women were nominated across both categories, with a shortlist of five nominees named. Cheryl Nelms, General Manager at Metro Vancouver was named Outstanding Leader and Andrea McLean, Senior Vice President at Fengate Asset Management was the recipient of the Emerging Leader award. Nelms oversees a portfolio of major infrastructure projects worth over $6 billion for BC’s most populated regional district, serving 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area and one Treaty First Nation. Previously, she was the Deputy General Manager of Engineering Services at the City of Vancouver, a department of 2,200 employees, and oversaw $800 million in annual budgets.Andrea McLean, Senior Vice President, Infrastructure Asset Management, with Fengate Asset Management, was the recipient of the 2024 WIN Award Outstanding Emerging Leader. McLean has 14 years of experience working in project management, consultation and asset management of large infrastructure projects, specifically public-private partnerships (P3), first as a Project Manager at Provincial Health Services Authority, then as Senior Project Consultant with Infrastructure BC. For the last nine years, she has worked with Fengate building their infrastructure division, climbing the ranks from Facility Operations Director, Western Canada, to VP, Infrastructure Asset Management, and now as Senior Vice President Asset Management, where she is responsible for Fengate’s entire portfolio of P3 projects, valued at over $800M in equity investments. Since the award’s inception, the program 484 women have been nominated for WIN’s successful community platform that highlights and elevates emerging and outstanding leaders in infrastructure and further recognize and thank these women for their passion, excellence, and unwavering determination.
