PNN 65553
Work Detail It is published by the Chilean National Institute of Industrial Property (Inapi), which includes a set of 28 examples of published patents linked to the recycling of photovoltaic panels and batteries, mainly lithium-ion. The National Institute of Industrial Property (Inapi) of Chile presents the so-called Technological Surveillance Report – Recycling of solar panels and batteries, in which it brings together patents classified into two groups, one of 13 technologies linked to the recycling of solar panels and another of 15 technologies linked to the recycling of batteries, mainly lithium-ion. As stated by Inapi, “the document aims to disseminate adequate waste management, as a way to contribute to the reduction of the negative environmental impact in cities, thus promoting efficiency in the use of resources and the mitigation of climate change. , as proposed by some of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” The patents, which come from countries such as the United States, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, India and China, cover from 2016 to 2023. In the manual, for example, mentioned inventions appear to recycle solar modules or a device to dismantle them. A method may also be found to remove components “such as a backsheet and a layer of sealing resin, from a photovoltaic module, and separate the module into, for example, glass, a cell, silver and aluminum in the context of recovering valuable materials. Another proposed method describes the recycling of glass scraps from spent photovoltaic panels. There are also systems and methods to separate active material from lithium-ion batteries or to properly process their waste.
