Fugro has transferred its self-elevating platform (SEP) Amberjack to Japan to meet demand for offshore wind geotechnical services.
Under local regulations, vessels registered in Japan follow a more streamlined procedure than foreign-flagged vessels when deployed for field work, so this move hopes to speed up mobilization to project sites.
The Amberjack was reflagged in December and is now based in Tokyo, where it will be deployed to provide geotechnical borehole drilling, sampling and situ tests such as downhole cone penetration tests and standard penetration tests. |
