Work Detail This is the Camarones project, in the Coquimbo region, with an estimated investment of 350 million dollars. Also awaiting admission in Valparaíso is the 131.8 MWp Pradera Larga solar plant with storage. The Environmental Evaluation Service (SEA) of the Chilean region of Coquimbo has admitted to the processing of the project nominated as a BESS Type Electric Energy Storage System. Shrimp, to be composed based on lithium-ion batteries for a total installed capacity of 200 MW. According to the project, which foresees an investment of 350 million dollars, the lithium-ion batteries will be accommodated in containerized units, “with the purpose of storing electrical energy from the National Electric System (SEN) for subsequent reinjection into the SEN during the time of highest demand, capacity based on which it is possible to reinject 1,000 MWh of energy during a period of approximately 5 hours.” The technical provision contemplates the provision of 247 battery units, each with 4.07 MW of storage capacity; 103 4.6 MW DC/AC inverter units equipped with a 4.6 MW 0.69/33 kV transformer; a 33 kV underground trunk pipeline of approximately 875 meters in length; a booster S/E in a 33 kV yard; a booster S/E in a 220 kV yard; an aerial route at 220 kV; an S/E disconnector; and two sections of 220 kV power lines connecting to the SEN. The estimated start date of execution of the project, which will be located in the province of Elqui, commune of Coquimbo, is proposed for next November 4. Pradera Larga Plant Meanwhile, the project called “Pradera Larga Solar Photovoltaic Plant with Energy Storage”, with 131.8 MW of power, has been in the process of admission by the SEA of Valparaíso since last week. This project is proposed in the communes of Casablanca, province of Valparaíso, and Algarrobo, province of San Antonio. Both from the aforementioned region, a project that will have a power of 131.8 MWp as maximum power and an energy storage system using lithium-ion batteries of the BESS (Battery Energy System Storage) type. The estimated date of the project, with an estimated investment of $105.4 million, is July 7, 2025.
