Work Detail These are data that emerge from the latest report of the Chilean National Electrical Coordinator. Solar power reaches 9,937.6 MW of installed capacity, 28.1% of the countrys total. The National Electrical Coordinator of Chole has just released the Monthly Energy Report, which presents indicators of the Electrical System corresponding to last March, among whose data stands out during that period, nine photovoltaic plants were interconnected, totaling 434.2 MW, out of a total of 467.3 MW renewable, including a wind plant with storage and a mini hydroelectric plant. It should be clarified that the great weight of the interconnected solar capacity must be attributed to Stage 2 of the CEME 1 plant, with 380 MW, in the Antofagasta region . Among data from the Report, it can also be mentioned that of the 41 projects presented in testing or commissioning (PES), which add up to a total of 1,384.8 MW, 25 correspond to photovoltaics, for a total of 844.7 MW, that is, the 61%. In reference to the relationship of photovoltaics with the total installed capacity of Chile, it can be said that of the 35,338.2 MW that are realized, 9,937.6 MW are solar (28.1%). The rest of the non-conventional renewable energies are divided as follows: wind, 4,891.9 (13.8%); solar thermal, 114.4 MW (0.3%); geothermal, 94.8 (0.3%). The hydroelectric plant occupies 7,507.5 MW (21.2%). Meanwhile, thermal sources have these numbers: natural gas, 5,396 MW (15.3%); coal, 3,786.5 MW (10.7%); diesel, 2,873.9 MW (8.1%) and other thermal -includes biogas, biomass, fuel oil, petcoke and cogeneration-, 735.7 MW (2.1%). Regarding the generation of electrical energy, last March the National Electric System (SEN) produced 7,306.4 GWh, 0.7% higher than what was produced in the same month of 2023. In general terms, it can be said that the percentages of generation in their participation by technologies remain more or less corresponding to their installed capacity: 23.7% of photovoltaic; 12.4%, wind; 0.5%, geothermal; 23.4%, hydroelectric; 18.6%, natural gas; 17.6% coal; 3.6%, other thermals.
