Work Detail At the 26th World Energy Congress (WEC) 2024, Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary of the Ministry of Power, along with Mrs. Reenat Sandhu, Ambassador of India to the Netherlands, inaugurated the India Pavilion, showcasing India’s advancements in the energy sector. The event highlighted the collaboration of several Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) including the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Power, New & Renewable Energy, Coal, and Petroleum & Natural Gas. The inauguration, led by high-profile Indian officials, set the stage for a detailed exposition of India’s strategic efforts in the renewable energy domain. Shri Pradip Kumar Das, the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of IREDA, along with other CPSE heads, welcomed the delegates. They emphasized India’s significant role at the congress and engaged in discussions revolving around IREDA’s recent achievements and the transformative impact of renewable technologies. At IREDA’s booth, the presence of Secretary Agarwal and Ambassador Sandhu was marked by an exchange of ideas focusing on the agency’s best-ever financial outcomes, current projects, and future growth strategies. These discussions underscored the broader context of India’s commitment to harnessing renewable energy for sustainable development. The India Pavilion is designed as a central hub for presenting India’s innovative solutions and sustainable practices in power generation. This platform not only demonstrates the country’s technological strides but also reinforces its dedication to environmental conservation on an international scale. Participation from other notable CPSEs like Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Power Finance Corporation (PFC), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), Power Grid Corporation of India, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) collectively highlighted India’s leadership in the global energy transition.
