A solar-focused EPC company designed, supplied, installed and commissioned the two (2) mini-grids of 103.4kwp and 21.45kwp with a battery bank storage of 192kwh and 33.6kwh respectively.
A scalable energy solution to drive growth in Guinea
In Bolodou, a town in south-western Guinea, the centralised solar PV power plant is equipped with a remote monitoring system which was installed to collect the information from the system (using energy measurements, consumption data and alarms, etc) and is hybridised with an existing hydroelectric plant.
Tianguel Boh, a town in northern-central Guinea, also had a centralised off-grid solar PV power plant installed with a remote monitoring system, electricity distribution network and interconnection with a sample of 10 users.
With only about 30% of the Guinea population having access to electricity and an energy mix primarily consisting of fossil biomass, oil and hydropower, the country has been exploring various renewable energy solutions.
To improve its energy access and reduce its dependence on fossil fuels, the country has turned to a promising and scalable solution that has been gaining traction—the installation of solar PV mini-grids.
The solar systems are also expected to positively impact the two communities socio-economically by increasing the populations energy consumption and boosting productivity by providing electricity to certain local offices and schools.
