GameChange Solar (GCS), a renowned global provider of single-axis solar tracking solutions, has announced a pivotal collaboration with Jiangsu Zhenjiang New Energy Equipment Co. Ltd. (JZNEE), a prominent China-based listed company. The strategic alliance aims to bolster local manufacturing capabilities for solar tracker components in the Middle East, heralding a significant advancement in the region’s renewable energy landscape.
Under the partnership agreement, JZNEE will establish a cutting-edge local manufacturing facility in Dammam, KSA, dedicated to producing solar tracker components for GCS’s Genius Tracker™. The facility, slated to commence operations by June 2024, is poised to produce up to 3 GW initially, with expandability up to 5 GW. This initiative resonates with the burgeoning local content mandates in the region and underscores the joint commitment of both companies to fostering renewable energy growth in the Middle East.
As the exclusive local partner, GCS will oversee the timely delivery of high-quality Genius Tracker components for upcoming projects across the Middle East. The company will supply non-steel components, including actuators, node controllers, and drive systems, ensuring unparalleled quality and reliability of its solar tracking systems. Additionally, GCS will offer comprehensive after-sales support, commissioning, software, and service, underscoring its dedication to customer satisfaction and project success in the Middle East.
The Genius Tracker product line from GCS has already garnered acclaim in the region, with notable deployments in major solar projects like the Abydos Kom Ombo 560 MW project in Egypt. Owned by AMEA Power, this project is poised to supply electricity to the Egyptian Electricity Transmission under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
Jiangsu Zhenjiang New Energy Equipment Co. Ltd. brings extensive experience and expertise in manufacturing for the renewable energy sector to the partnership. With a proven track record in manufacturing, logistics, and installation of PV mounting and tracker systems, JZNEE is primed to contribute significantly to the success of this collaboration and the advancement of renewable energy in the Middle East.
