According to a statement, the plant deploys 40,146 panels on an area of ??19.9 hectares, and it is specified that the entry into operation "will be done in two phases: in the first, 4 MW will enter and in the second, the remaining capacity." When it is fully operational, it is ensured that it will be able to deliver 34.4 GWh annually, equivalent to the consumption of 18,200 homes in Colombia, energy that will be incorporated into the operations of the Refinery, replacing self-generation with gas. The information adds that 370 workers from the Caribbean region participated in its construction, half of them women, "who were mostly trained in courses on the installation of solar panels and photovoltaic energy generation, supported by Ecopetrol." The Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, the President of Ecopetrol, Ricardo Roa Barragán, and the Minister of Mines and Energy, Andrés Camacho Morales, among other authorities, participated in the final works ceremony.
