Patliputra University (PPU) will soon start the construction work on its second campus on a 11-acre vacant land of the BS College campus in Patna, as one of the oldest constituent colleges of the university. The university has already approved the blueprint for its campus dedicated to postgraduate (PG) teaching.
The university will start construction work soon after getting permission from the state forest department which requires to shift at least 14 to 16 trees to the vacant Ganga river bed. The university will build facilities like PG departments, central library, common room and playground in an area of five acres, while the rest six acres land will be utilised towards other purposes.
Incidentally, the university has also got 10-acre vacant land at Bakhtiyarpur to build its university and administrative blocks as part of the required UGC criteria. The state government building and construction department has been assigned the task of blueprint preparation, including the structural design and other details to start the works soon. |
