Offshore construction at the site of the Taiwan’s 1 GW Hai Long Wind Farm has been highly active as the ship Green Jade works on the pin pile section, which includes jacket pile foundation preparations for the project.
The leading group that is responsible for developing Hai Long Offshore Wind has an agreement to also construct. This group is made up of four companies Northland Power, Yushan Energy, Mitsui&Co. and Gentari and began the construction phase on April 11.
Completion date
The Hai Long offshore wind project is forecasted to see its installation until 2026..Starting from putting foundation pin piles, the construction will then do the laying of the subsea cables until it is finally done by erecting the offshore substations. It was decided that at the end of the current year wind turbine installing operations will come to a rise.
For the purpose of carrying out operations in the offshore Changhua region that is near the coast, the ship, which was completed last year, is putting into force a subsea self-leveling pre-pile template.
CDWE Group designed and fabricated the template with special instruments achieved great success in the position of each driving pile monitored real time and accuracy within the limited space of Taiwan Colosum.
The Taiwan-built article titled Green Jade vessel stands out as Taiwan’s first premier heavy lift vessel with DP3 installation profile and will participate in the assembly of 73 wind turbines and two foundations for an offshore substation for this wind farm.
Capacity
The Hai Long project, boasting a capacity of 1,022 MW, encompasses two offshore wind farms: the Hai Long 2 (518 MW) & Hai Long 3 (504 MW), which are scheduled to commence their operations in three different time windows. Notably, Hai Long 2 is further divided into two smaller offshore wind farms: on one hand, the development of Hai Long 2a with a total capacity of 294 MW, the development of Hai Long 2b with 224 MW on the other hand. |
