Work Detail In a new weekly update for pv magazine , OPIS, a Dow Jones company, offers a quick look at the main price trends in the global PV industry. FOB China cell prices faced another round of declines this week, continuing to be affected by widespread price declines across all upstream segments. FOB China prices of Mono PERC and TOPCon M10 cells were assessed at $0.0455/W and $0.0545/W, respectively, marking a decrease of 1.09% and 1.98% over the week former. Similarly, the price of Mono PERC G12 batteries fell 2.20% from one week to the next, standing this week at $0.0445/W. According to OPIS market research, the prices of Mono PERC M10 and TOPCon M10 cells in the Chinese domestic market have fallen to approximately 0.365 yuan ($0.50)/W and 0.437 yuan/W, respectively. The market has already recorded prices for high-efficiency TOPCon M10 cells as low as 0.42 yuan/W, indicating a continued decline in prices. Additionally, a market source noted that apart from the effects of lower prices, the TOPCon cell market is experiencing an expansion in production, further intensifying the perception of lower cell prices. Some manufacturers are investing in additional TOPCon capacity, while others are upgrading their aging Mono Perc production lines to TOPCon. According to a major TOPCon cell producer, the launch of ground-mounted solar projects in China during April and May could have a limited impact on increasing demand and prices, given the significant existing capacity. Some sources conveyed a pessimistic outlook on Turkeys local market after attending the SolarEX International Fair in Istanbul, held from April 4 to 6, describing it as “lukewarm.” It is unclear what Turkeys manufacturing capacity is, with an analysis of the data pointing to between 12 GW and 40 GW of manufacturing capacity across the value chain, versus a local installation market of about 2 GW per year. . According to a major cell manufacturer, there remains a significant inventory of Mono PERC cells in this market, which remains dominated by p-type products. Expansion into new markets and companies will take time, the source added. OPIS, a Dow Jones company, provides energy prices, news, data and analysis on gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, LPG/LNG, coal, metals and chemicals, as well as renewable fuels and environmental commodities. In 2022 it acquired the pricing data assets of the Singapore Solar Exchange and now publishes the OPIS APAC Solar Weekly Report .
