Work Detail The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced a new €50 million loan to support Fraport TAV Antalya Yatirim Yapim ve Isletme (FTA) in Türkiye, aiding in the completion of Antalya Airport’s development. This additional funding aims to enhance operational efficiencies and optimize the airport’s capacity through various upgrades. The ongoing investment program will introduce carbon- and energy-saving measures such as LEED-Gold-certified terminals, solar photovoltaic integration, and advanced terminal-operating and energy-consumption-monitoring systems. FTA, a joint venture between Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide (Fraport) and TAV Airports Holding (TAV Airports), operates Antalya Airport under a concession agreement expiring in 2026. The new loan supplements a previous €140 million loan from the EBRD, which forms part of a larger €2.3 billion financing package involving the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The extended financing underscores the EBRD’s commitment to improving connectivity and infrastructure in the region. It will enable FTA to complete its investment program before embarking on a new 25-year concession for Antalya Airport in 2027. Moreover, FTA is dedicated to advancing gender diversity within the sector, leveraging its extensive supply chain and contracting relationships to promote the participation of women. With nearly €19.5 billion invested in 440 projects and trade facilitation lines since 2009, the EBRD remains a significant investor in Türkiye, with the majority of investments directed towards the private sector.
