Work Detail The Colombian start-up Unergy claims to currently have 1,000 mini-farms, of which 18 are already financed and in the process of implementation, and 100 are in the financing stage. Unergy, a Colombian start-up specialized in financing renewable energy projects, has announced the implementation of its first agrivoltaic projects in Colombia from solar mini-farms located in areas of the country with solar radiation levels of more than 1,800 kWh/kWp and with an inclination of less than 10 degrees, specifically, it is claimed, in lands near the Atlantic coast, in the Caribbean region, in the north of the country, and in the low valleys of the Andean region, in the center. In response to a query made by pv magazine , Unergy assures that they are currently deploying three projects that are in different phases of development, but that their portfolio already has a pipeline of 1,000 mini-farms, “of which 18 are already financed and in the process of implementation, and 100 are in the process of financing,” it is stated. The first of the three agrivoltaic projects is located in Mompox, Bolívar department. “There we are working on the cultivation of patilla and chili, hand in hand with a local productive actor who already has experience in these products,” he specifies. The second is in La Paz, department of Santander, "where we have studied the soil and determined viability for the cultivation of cucurbits such as melon or watermelon, and we are looking for alliances with the peasant communities in the area," they add from Unergy. Finally, the third - the only one so far operational - is in San Diego, department of Cesar, “where starting this month of April we will begin planting 5,000 melon plants with the help of a local farmer, with crop management of prophylactic approach that will allow the reduction of the use of agrochemicals.” Regarding the installed capacity of the projects, these are standardized projects on surfaces of 2 hectares, each with 2,500 solar panels "using a patented solar tracking technology that increases efficiency by 15%." The panels referred to are Longi Hi-MO 7, with a power of 610 W and efficiency of 22.8%. In this way, it is added, “all projects have an installed capacity of 990 kWac.” From Unergy they highlight that each mini-farm project is selected a productive actor, a cooperative or a farming community “to whom we grant the possibility of using the area between the solar panels for crops, and we offer technical assistance in all phases and cultivation cycles. ”. “The profits obtained from cultivation are entirely for these actors,” they specify.
