In a strategic move aimed at bolstering its smart energy technology portfolio, SolarEdge Technologies has finalized the acquisition of Wevo Energy Ltd, a prominent software startup specializing in EV charging optimization and management. This acquisition underscores SolarEdge’s commitment to advancing solutions for sites with large quantities of EV chargers, including apartment buildings, workplace carparks, and public charging locations.
Wevo Energy’s software, renowned for its vendor-agnostic approach and support for industry-leading open protocols, offers a range of features such as multi-user pricing and billing, predictive load management, and tiered prioritization of charging schedules. Having electrified numerous parking spaces across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, Wevo’s integration with SolarEdge’s EV chargers, solar inverters, and meters provides a comprehensive real-time view of solar production, grid consumption, and EV charging.
The acquisition aligns with SolarEdge’s vision to offer a holistic energy optimization system, known as SolarEdge ONE, for the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) segment. This integrated solution will orchestrate and integrate on-site solar generation, battery storage, and large-scale EV charging, providing SolarEdge customers with a unified approach to energy management. |
