Work Detail The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has plans for a capital expenditure (capex) of about Rs 30,000 crore in the next five years towards building and revamping airport infrastructure across the country. This was stated by Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in his speech during the AAIs Annual Day celebration. AAIs capex in FY24 stood at Rs 5,250 crore, higher than the capex of FY23, which stood at Rs 5,175 crore. This year, the AAI dedicated 20 new terminals or airports to the nation. The AAI owns and runs more than 100 airports in India. Civil Aviation Secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam exhorted the AAI to increase efficiency, stating that high standards are expected by the Indian travellers.
