Work Detail Danish turbine manufacturer to deliver units for wind farms in Sweden, Italy and South Korea Vestas has secured three turbine contract awards for projects in Sweden, Italy and South Korea, signalling the start of the usual end-quarter order rush. The Danish manufacturer has received an order from Eolus for the Fågelås, Boarp and Dållebo projects in Sweden. The wind farms consist of seven V162-6.2 MW delivered in power mode 6.4MW, four V162-6.2MWs and four V150-4.5 MWs, respectively, and include supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines. Upon completion, Vestas will service the hardware under a long-term agreement. Turbine delivery is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025 with commissioning scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2025. “This order underlines our long-standing relationship with Eolus and the collaboration throughout many years,” said Anna Schlasberg Wachtmeister, vice president sales for Northern and Central Europe at Vestas. “We would like to thank Eolus for the confidence they have shown in Vestas’ products and services.” “It is a pleasure to once again have the opportunity to partner with Vestas and together contribute to the renewable energy buildout in Sweden. We look forward to our collaboration and to start construction on the projects immediately,” added Eolus chief Per Witalisson. Elsewhere in Europe, Italian renewables producer Edison Rinnovabili has placed a 81MW order for the repowering of the Roio del Sangro, Monteferrante Guado, Monteferrante Casone and Montazzoli wind parks, in Abruzzo, Italy. The contract includes the supply and installation of 18 V136-4.5 MW machines, as well as a 10-year operation and maintenance service agreement. “I’d like to thank Edison for the trust placed in Vestas for the repowering of their projects. We are really proud to see how the diversity of our portofolio continues to optimise our customer’s business cases in Italy”, said Vestas General Manager Italy, Francesco Amati. Turbine delivery is expected for the second quarter of 2025 while commissioning is planed for the last quarter of the same year. Vestas has meanwhile secured a 77MW order with GS E&R for the YD1 wind farm in Gyeongsang-do, South Korea. The order includes supply and supervision of installation of 18 of V136-4.2 MW wind turbines delivered in 4.3MW operating mode. Delivery of the turbines will begin in first quarter of 2025, with commissioning scheduled for 2026. “We would like to thank GS E&R for their trust in our proven solutions and we are pleased to partner with them on the YD1 project. We remain committed to contribute to the decarbonisation target of South Korea as well as the whole Asia Pacific region, through our industry-leading wind energy solutions and strong partnership with our customers.” said Purvin Patel, Vestas Asia Pacific President.
