German independent power producer Clearvise AG (ETR:ABO) on Tuesday announced a deal to supply green power for the French operations of Japanese carbon and graphite fibre products maker Tokai COBEX Savoie.
The contract is the first corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) for the German renewable power producer and will run for 11 years. Under its terms, Tokai COBEX will receive the entire generation of the 36.4-MW Chassiecq solar park that Clearvise plans to hook to the grid at the end of this year. Located in southern France’s Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the photovoltaic (PV) farm will have an estimated annual output of over 47 GWh. Once up and running, it will supply Tokai COBEX’s two manufacturing facilities in France.
The procurement initiative will support the Japanese group’s sustainability programme and efforts to promote sustainable developments.
