Work Detail SK Ecoplant Company, a subsidiary of SK Group, Korea’s third-largest conglomerate, and BCG Energy, a key player in Vietnam’s clean energy sector and a member of Bamboo Capital Group, have joined forces to spearhead the development of more than 700 MW of renewable energy in Vietnam. The cooperation agreement, signed at SK Ecoplant’s headquarters in Seoul, marks a significant milestone in the renewable energy landscape of Vietnam. Attending the signing ceremony were senior executives from both companies, including Mr. Kim Jeong-hoon, Managing Director of SK Ecoplant Factory Solution Business Department, and Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Executive Vice President of Bamboo Capital Group and General Director of BCG Energy. The ambitious venture encompasses a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects, including 300 MW of rooftop solar power, 200 MW of onshore wind power in Northern provinces, and approximately 100 MW of potential projects. The collaboration aims to leverage SK Ecoplant’s expertise in energy development and BCG Energy’s proficiency in clean energy solutions to harness Vietnam’s abundant renewable energy resources. In the initial phase of cooperation, SK Ecoplant will establish a joint venture with BCG SP Greensky, a subsidiary of BCG Energy, to execute self-produced rooftop solar power projects. These initiatives will primarily cater to Korean businesses operating in Vietnam, aligning with the companies’ shared goal of promoting sustainable energy solutions in the region. SK Ecoplant’s transition towards environmentally friendly business operations is part of SK Group’s broader strategy to expand its footprint in Vietnam’s burgeoning renewable energy sector. Chairman of SK Group, Mr. Chey Tae-won, affirmed the conglomerate’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with Vietnam during a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh last year. BCG Energy, renowned for its successful deployment of large-scale solar power plants and ongoing development of rooftop solar systems and wind power projects across Vietnam, brings invaluable experience and capabilities to the partnership. The company’s track record in renewable energy development positions it as a strategic ally for international corporations seeking sustainable investment opportunities in Vietnam. Following the signing ceremony, SK Ecoplant and BCG Energy are poised to commence collaborative efforts to advance renewable energy initiatives in Vietnam. This partnership underscores the commitment of both companies to drive environmental sustainability and accelerate the transition towards clean energy solutions in the region.
