The move aims to boost solar technology adoption and meet clean energy goals. Approved by the Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy, the amendment emphasizes India’s commitment to sustainable energy and global competitiveness. Stakeholders are urged to comply with the updated criteria to drive renewable energy advancements. Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission Approves Power Sale Agreement For Renewable Energy Procurement DERC’s pivotal order on BRPL’s petition against SECI allows procurement of 110 MW from Wind-Solar Hybrid projects at ?2.48/kWh, contingent on trading margin legal proceedings. The approval aligns with RPO targets and emphasizes direct procurement’s benefits over RECs. The commission acknowledges the competitive bidding process and legal considerations, highlighting regulatory commitment to sustainable energy practices. Adani Green Energy Launches 180 MW Solar Power Plant In Jaisalmer, Securing 25-Year PPA With SECI Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has inaugurated a 180 MW solar power facility in Devikot, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. This development marks a substantial stride towards India’s ambition for energy security and its transition towards a low-carbon economy. The plant, under a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), is expected to generate around 540 million units of electricity annually. This output will suffice to power over 110,000 homes and is projected to cut carbon emissions by approximately 390,000 tonnes each year. DERC Amends Guidelines For Renewable Energy Adoption With Group And Virtual Net Metering 2024 DERC announces amendments to Group Net Metering and Virtual Net Metering guidelines, effective April 1st, 2024. Changes refine definitions, mandate Distribution Licensees to bear capital expenditure, and set capacity limits for Ground Mounted Renewable Energy Systems. Projects commissioned until March 31st, 2027, exempt from certain charges, gradually increasing thereafter. Distribution Licensees must display available capacity under VNM/GNM Guidelines on their websites quarterly. Amendments aim to promote transparency and incentivize investment in renewable energy, aligning with India’s clean energy goals. Tata Power Leads E-Mobility Revolution In Ayodhya: Installs Charging Points Along Key Routes Tata Power, a key player in electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, has joined hands with the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) to make Ayodhya EV-friendly by installing EV charging points in and around the city. This partnership aims to expedite EV adoption and encourage sustainable transportation solutions. These charging points will transform travel experiences for both residents and visitors, promoting the adoption of e-mobility and sustainable transport, particularly among pilgrims and tourists visiting the holy city.
