Chinese solar giant DAH Solar has introduced groundbreaking photovoltaic modules featuring rectangular cells in Brazil. These new modules, part of the DHN-72R18 line, boast a power output exceeding 600W and incorporate TOPCon type N technology, promising enhanced energy generation capabilities compared to traditional square cell models.
The 182mm x 192mm cells, equipped with TOPCon technology, are designed to optimize energy production, particularly in high-temperature environments, while exhibiting a lower degradation rate per year. Notably, the new modules offer a lighter and more compact design, allowing for increased power generation per square meter compared to conventional square cell modules.
Leonardo Rodrigues, DAH Solar’s technical manager for Latam, highlighted the efficiency and space-saving advantages of the new modules. According to Rodrigues, a 630W solar module with square cells typically requires 2.8m² of space and achieves an efficiency of approximately 22.54%. In contrast, a module with rectangular cells occupies 2.7m² and boasts an efficiency of 23.30%.
Testing conducted by DAH Solar indicates that the TOPCon type N cells utilized in their modules can achieve an impressive efficiency rate of 26.5% in converting solar energy into electrical energy, marking one of the highest rates in the market.
The DHN-72R18 line, featuring modules with a power output exceeding 600W, offers various configurations, including regular format with borders, fullscreen models with an infinity edge or without a front frame (a patented technology by DAH), and Bifacial Double Glass modules with double glass construction.
Furthermore, the equipment is backed by a 15-year warranty against manufacturing defects and guarantees 30 years of linear output power at 87.4%, ensuring consistent energy generation throughout the system’s lifespan.
