The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on March 13, 2024, outlines plans to launch collaborative programs across all TPSDI centers in India, focusing on enhancing skills in the renewable energy sector. The partnership aims to accelerate India’s transition to a sustainable and green economy. SCGJ, supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Confederation of Indian Industry, serves as a vital link in the green energy sector. Through this collaboration, Tata Power and SCGJ aim to leverage expertise and resources to develop skill development programs aligned with global best practices. With India’s ambitious goals of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070 and installing 500 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, the partnership is crucial. Tata Power aims to meet this demand by nurturing a skilled workforce capable of driving the transition towards sustainability. The collaboration will focus on advancing renewable energy skills through specialized programs, knowledge sharing, and capacity building. Plans include launching Green Hydrogen Labs and solar training programs, along with joint certification and accreditation support to ensure program credibility and industry alignment. Since its inception, TPSDI has empowered over 1 lakh individuals with green and power-sector skillsets across various centers in India. The partnership with SCGJ further strengthens Tata Power’s commitment to sustainability and reinforces its position as a leader in sustainable energy solutions. Tata Power’s Chief – Sustainability & CSR, Himal Tewari, emphasized the importance of the collaboration, highlighting the joint commitment to revolutionizing the green energy sector.
