This is the Jambolan Solar Photovoltaic Park, of 20.69 MWp; and the Girasol II Solar Park, of 60 MWp.
The Dominican Government, through the National Energy Commission (CNE), announced the signing of a definitive concession for the Jambolan Solar Photovoltaic Park project.
It will be located in the municipality of Pedro Brand, province of Santo Domingo, and will have a nominal installed capacity of 18.40 MW and a peak installed capacity of 20.69 MWp. There are no further details about the launch date of the project.
The contract was formalized in a ceremony presided over by the executive director of the CNE, Edward Veras, and the company representative, Martin Johann Wagner. Wagner is related to the German company F&S solar concept, which promotes several projects in the country, such as the Montecristi solar park , whose first phase, with a total nominal power of 58 MW, came into operation in July 2018 .
In addition, the National Energy Commission announced the definitive concession granted for the Girasol II Solar Park project. The initiative is led by the Haina Electricity Generating Company (EGE Haina).
Located in the municipality of Yaguate, San Cristóbal province, the Girasol II Solar Park is projected to have a nominal installed capacity of 48.29 MW and a peak installed capacity of 60 MWp.
This is the second part of what was the largest photovoltaic project in the country, the 120 MWp Girasol solar park, whose construction was awarded to the Spanish group Elecnor in 2020 . |
