Work Detail In a significant move to boost renewable energy capacity, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has floated a tender for the development of a 100 MW floating solar project alongside a 1.5 MW hydroelectric project at the Morbe Dam, located in Maharashtra’s Raigad district. This ambitious initiative is divided into two phases for the solar project, with 60 MW to be developed in the first phase and 40 MW in the subsequent phase, aiming to enhance the region’s sustainable energy supply. The tender invites bids from potential developers, with the submission deadline set for April 2, 2024, and the bid opening slated for the following day. A notable aspect of the tender is the requirement for an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs 25 million from the bidders. Additionally, the project mandates achieving financial closure within 210 days post the signing of the power purchase agreement, underscoring the urgency and commitment towards renewable energy adoption. Prospective bidders are expected to meet stringent eligibility criteria, demonstrating their capability and experience in implementing large-scale solar projects. The criteria include having successfully completed at least three projects of minimum 40 MW capacity, two projects of at least 50 MW, or a single project of 80 MW capacity for governmental, public sector, or private entities over the past decade. Alternatively, those who have undertaken a 100 MW project in a single location, encompassing various packages or phases, are also eligible to participate.
