Work Detail In a landmark achievement for India’s power sector, the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has officially granted Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA) the prestigious status of Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE). This accolade recognizes GRID-INDIA’s critical contribution and unwavering dedication to ensuring a stable and efficient power supply across the nation. Since its inception in 2009, GRID-INDIA has played an essential role in managing the Indian Power System, tasked with the seamless operation of one of the world’s largest and most complex electrical grids. It oversees the distribution and transfer of electricity both within the country and across borders, aiming to maintain reliability, affordability, and sustainability in power delivery. Operating under the umbrella of the Ministry of Power, GRID-INDIA’s operational framework includes the National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC) and five Regional Load Despatch Centres (RLDCs), which together form the backbone of the country’s electricity grid. These centers are pivotal in handling the All India synchronous grid, ensuring that the growing demands for electricity, driven by economic growth, the rise of renewable energy sources, and technological advancements, are met efficiently and reliably. GRID-INDIA’s recognition as a Miniratna CPSE underscores its role as a key player in the power sector, especially in facilitating competitive and efficient electricity markets and administering settlement systems.
