Work Detail Taiwan-headquartered Swancor has signed a Letter of Intent with Siemens Gamesa to supply recyclable resins for the company’s recyclable wind turbine blades. Starting in 2026, all the resin supplied from Swancor to Siemens Gamesa will be recyclable, as per an update shared on social media by the German company. Siemens Gamesa said that the collaboration strengthens its RecyclableBlade production capacity. In 2022, the two companies announced a strategic collaboration on recyclable blades with the intention to utilise Swancor’s recyclable thermosetting epoxy resin EzCiclo. At the beginning of March, Chairman and Managing Director of Siemens Gamesa Offshore for Asia-Pacific, Niels Steenberg showcased an art piece, which is the first recyclable wind turbine blade made from EzCiclo, during the opening ceremony of Swancor’s Innovation Park in Taiwan. According to Swancor’s latest update, 20 pieces of recyclable blade resin have been manufactured in Denmark and final product quality testing and certification are in progress. Launched in 2021, RecyclableBlade is designed so that up to 95 per cent of the blade’s raw materials can be separated and reused.
