Petrovietnam (PVN) and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners Group (CIP) of Denmark have established a strategic alliance in the renewable energy sector through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organizations.
The agreement outlines a collaborative effort to exchange knowledge and expertise on transitioning from traditional oil and gas to renewable energy sources.
Specific areas of focus include technology integration, supply chain management, logistics optimization, infrastructure development, and technical proficiency enhancement.
Additionally, the partnership aims to explore opportunities for joint ventures in offshore wind power projects within Vi?t Nam. As part of the collaboration, CIP Group will extend its support towards training programs dedicated to emerging renewable energy technologies.
These programs will cover aspects such as electricity conversion technology, energy storage solutions, and the establishment of energy islands.
Danish Ambassador to Vi?t Nam, Nicolai Prytz, expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting its potential to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Vi?t Nam and Denmark.
Deputy General Director of PVN, Phan T? Giang, emphasized the importance of transitioning to clean and sustainable energy sources to mitigate environmental degradation and combat climate change.
Vi?t Nam has set ambitious targets to reduce environmental pollution, with a commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
Robert Helms, Board member of CIP Group, echoed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating that his firm eagerly anticipates working with PVN to research and develop offshore wind power projects in Vi?t Nam.
