Now the evaluation process of the offers presented begins and the next step will be the opening of the economic offers, scheduled for May 17, 2024.
Since 2018, the Coordinator has been carrying out several studies related to the retirement of coal plants, energy transition, safe operation and network planning. According to them, the departure of coal plants and the greater penetration of variable renewable energies reduce short-circuit power, making it more fragile in the face of this type of contingencies, especially in the north of the country, where there is a greater presence of this type. of generation.
