The Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) will provide Rs 722.04 crore support for the extension of the Seaport-Airport Road from the Naval Armament Depot (NAD) to Mahilalayam Junction in the state.
A meeting of the Board held on 04 March, 2024 allotted the funds for the project, after considering the revised estimate for the development of NAD-Mahilalayam (Aluva) stretch. The land acquisition component of the road project will be allocated Rs 618.62 crore, whereas the road development part will get Rs 103.42 crore.
Land would be acquired in Thrikkakara North, Choornikkara, Aluva East and West villages. A total of 74.41 acres are to be taken over for completing the works of the road with a length of around 6.6 km.
Steps for developing the Bharata Mata College-Collectorate and Info Park-Irumpanam road stretches into four-lane tracts as part of the Seaport-Airport Road development project will be expedited. The project is expected to be completed in a time-bound manner. |
