Work Detail The UK-headquartered offshore energy engineering solutions provider Aquaterra Energy has been hired on a long-term contract for analysis services across an undisclosed operator’s global offshore operations. This will allow Aquaterra to deliver insights, enabling the unnamed UK independent exploration and production company to optimize its operational performance. The three-year contract for a comprehensive range of offshore analysis services allows Aquaterra Energy to support the operator with insights and recommendations, enabling risk management and optimizing offshore designs for the UK oil and gas firm’s operational portfolio. Aside from offering performance improvements, this will enable the operator to lower costs while supporting a reduction in operating carbon emissions. James Larnder, Managing Director of Aquaterra Energy, commented: “We’re delighted to strengthen our partnership with this customer by signing this contract. We have dedicated significant time and resources to winning these long-term analysis contracts, and the success we’ve seen in this area is testament to the first-class service delivered by our expert in-house team. To support this growth, we have doubled our analysis team over the last few years.” As the deal encompasses work across the full offshore project lifecycle, from extending or decommissioning late-life wells to early-stage planning, Aquaterra will handle riser and conductor analysis for jack-ups and semi-submersibles, alongside integrity management, decommissioning, and late life analysis. Martin Harrop, Analysis Manager at Aquaterra Energy, noted: “We’re an agile, solutions-driven partner, and through these long-term agreements can provide customers with assurances and recommendations from the earliest stages of their projects – where we can provide the most value to project delivery and identifying efficiency gains. “We work closely with our in-house project engineers to ensure the solutions we suggest to clients are not just what’s best from an analytical perspective, but also an engineering one, and the growth we’ve seen in this area speaks to the quality of our service.” Aquaterra underlines that the provision of an extensive range of offshore analysis services to support not just oil and gas operators but also offshore wind, CCS, and hydrogen, has been “a pivotal aspect” of its growth strategy. In line with this, the company sees this contract as the latest in a series of long-term offshore analysis agreements, which allowed it to expand its portfolio from one to four major contracts with operators in locations across Europe and the Middle East. In April 2023, Aquaterra Energy expanded its riser and connector portfolio, adding completions and a workover system to support carbon capture and storage developments. The firm won a subsea riser contract with BP for a development project located offshore Trinidad and Tobago in May 2023.
