Work Detail Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF has been awarded a contract to repair an export cable for an offshore wind farm in the Southern North Sea. The project, awarded by an undisclosed client – only described as an international energy operator, includes the retrieval of the damaged cable and termination, installation, trenching, and commissioning of the replacement cable. DOF’s contract scope includes project management, engineering, procurement and logistics of cable and all associated equipment as well as the complete offshore works. Preparations for the project have already started in Aberdeen and Bergen. Offshore execution is planned to begin in March. According to the company’s statement, the vessel Skandi Hera is scheduled as the installation vessel while the project is valued at around $13m. Earlier this month, DOF won a large contract from compatriot energy giant Equinor for the AHTS Skandi Iceman and a contract by Altera Infrastructure to install FPSO and FSO units for the Phase 2 development of the Eni-operated Baleine field offshore Ivory Coast.
