Julio Cobos came out this Wednesday at the crossroads of Javier Mileis decision to stop public works in everything the country. The man from Mendoza made an extensive statement on his social networks in this regard.
“Public works are fundamental for a country. The great works that were carried out in Argentina made it possible to provide connectivity, generate employment, improve the quality of life of millions of families, improve logistics costs and enhance strategic resources for national sovereignty,” he said on his Twitter account.
And he added: “It is perhaps time to rediscuss the 75-year-old public works law, considering the current parameters to achieve more transparency and allow other formats of public-private collaboration. "We must work on the eradication of corruption, not public works."
For Cobos, “public works is not an expense, it is an investment. If this is not done, it will be impossible to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of our country. Almost 40% of the population still does not have sewers and the housing deficit is more than 3 million homes.”
For this reason, the current national legislator advised the president: “Improving the condition of our routes and intensifying the role of the railway to reduce transportation costs are essential. It will be difficult to increase exports if we do not have adequate and modern routes, and updated rail and port infrastructure.”
And he concluded: “Public works are also an investment that generates employment and commercial movement in the regions where they are carried out and are an absolutely necessary element for the regional development of Argentina.” |
