In the midst of the brake on public works and the fight with the governors, Javier Milei took 74 days to appoint the heads of National Highways and the CNRT.
Javier Mileis government took more than 70 days to appoint authorities in National Highways, one of the strategic organizations for the maintenance of routes and the development of infrastructure.
The delay in the appointment left the organization practically headless since the departure of the former mayor of Cañuelas Gustavo Arrieta, in the administration of Alberto Fernández. Workers of the agency, governors, mayors and legislators repeatedly denounced the state of acephaly in which the organization was left.
To the lack of investments under the premise of zero public works promoted by the President and his Minister of Economy, Luis "Toto" Caputo, was added the lack of authorizations, approvals of expenses or processing of files in National Highways. Even the Road Vehicles were left unused for weeks due to a lack of fuel due to non-payment of bills.
Through a resolution in the official bulletin, President Javier Milei formalized Raúl Bertola from Córdoba as the administrator of National Highways, who had already been working in the area but lacked a signature to make decisions. His appointment had been put on "stand by" after the Presidents anger with the governor of Córdoba, Martín Llaryora, due to the fall of the Omnibus Law, which triggered the departure of the head of ANSES, Osvaldo Giordano.
Bertola was for many years the director of Provincial Roads of Córdoba and is a leader of Juan Schiarettis kidney and is recognized for his knowledge on the subject.
In Decree 183/2024, which bears the signatures of President Javier Milei and the Minister of Justice, Mariano Cúneo Libarona, Edgar Pérezs entry into the National Transport Regulation Commission (CNRT) was formalized.
